Oslo: Some cocktail ideas for “The End” of the year

Patrice at The End Bar - OsloWe’ve met Patrice in his brand new cosy cocktail bar in Oslo: The End (Hegdehaugsveien 24). It’s a great place to have a drink with some friends before dancing in the night club just next door. We’ve asked him to give us some cocktail tips to enjoy a nice drink during this festive period of the year. Patrice has chosen to make 3 drinks for us:  1) The gin-based Singapore Sling to celebrate its anniversary as it was invented exactly 100 years ago at the famous Raffles Hotel’s Long Bar.  2) The Bora Bora, an alcohol-free drink. 3) The French Martini.

2Singapore Sling
4cl gin
2cl cherry brandy
0,5cl Cointreau
0,5cl benedictine
1cl grenadine syrup
8cl pineapple juice
1 dash bitters
3cl lime juice
Shake with ice and strain into an ice filled collins glass. Then, garnish with cherry and slice of pineapple.

Bora Bora (alcohol free cocktail)
10cl pineapple juice
6cl passion-fruit juice
1cl lemon juice
2cl grenadine syrup
Blend the ingredients in a shaker. Ice the drink in the shaker. Serve in a tumbler glass with ice and a straw, decorate with a slice of orange.
French Martini
4cl vodka
2cl Chambord raspberry liqueur
1cl fresh pineapple juice
1 twist lemon peel
Pour each of the above into a tall bar glass. Shake with ice, pour into a cocktail or martini glass, and serve.
